Deleting your account & data
Last updated July 2026
Chorus has no traditional account — your data lives on your device, and, if you share a household, on our server too. Here’s exactly what happens to each, and the one thing we can’t delete for you.
On your device
Your chores, scores and history are stored in the app itself. Uninstalling Chorus deletes all of it — there’s nothing to ask us for and nothing left behind.
Leave household in Settings signs this device out of a household and takes you back to the start. It doesn’t delete anything by itself, on your phone or on our server.
On our servers
A household you keep to yourself in the app never reaches our server — syncing only begins when you invite someone or join with a code. Households you start in the browser live on our server from the moment you create them.
To delete the synced copy, email [email protected] from — or mentioning — the household. We action deletion requests within 30 days and confirm when it’s done. Here’s what that removes:
- A household only you were in. Deleted outright — the board, the chore list, every chore ever logged, and your device’s record of it. None of it is kept or archived.
- A household you share with other people. Your device is removed, so it can’t sync or reach the household again. The household itself stays, because it’s your flatmates’ record as much as yours — and that means your profile name and the chores you logged stay on their board. We can’t pull just your part out without tearing up everyone else’s week. If you want those gone too, everyone has to leave: once the last person does, the whole household is deleted.
In the browser
Playing at playchorus.app/app? You don’t need to email anyone — Leave on the board does it straight away. If you’re the only one on the household it says Delete instead, and warns you before it goes.
